It’s a party in your mouth – BOOMBAYAH. Sunway Pyramid lights up with Oreo x Blackpink

Name your favourite cookie in 3-2-1-go!

oreo~~

If you said Oreo, you’re now beholden to the power of some very delicate subliminal messaging, and also because it’s probably everyone’s favourite sandwich biscuit. Paired with a glass of milk, it’s the kinda snack that makes you wanna just Whistle a tune. How can you not, with all that chocolaty creamy yummy goodness flooding the tastebuds of your mouth?

Ah but wait… what if we told you there might be a better an equally good pair?

Hey look, it’s Blackpink In Your Oreo! Heh. So if you thought you might have suddenly turned colourblind from seeing a bunch of pink Oreos at your local grocery shops, fret not, they are indeed pink (and black) and it’s all part of the latest Oreo x Blackpink collab. A party was held at Sunway Pyramid on the 24th of February in celebration, and Cilisos was right in the thick of it.

The biscuits come in a limited edition Oreo x Blackpink packaging

Y’all know how pretty much anything can be a collectible when it comes to kpop? This one might make the list too– just look at that crown on the packaging!

And when we tell you these biscuits were e-ve-ry-where… In spite of that, we were told that they’d likely be sold out in a Blink once the floor was open to the public. If you’re wondering why, it’s because each Oreo package has a set of ten photocards. And if there’s anything that gets fans going, it’s gotta be the thought of owning one. Or ten. (Trust this writer, she’s an ardent kpop fan herself)

Exhibit B

And if you thought that was it, well…

There were games, performances and a photobooth

From tic-tac-toe (which this writer won) to arcade basketball (which this writer lost miserably), people were moving from one set to the next in a flurry of excitement. Though perhaps it was the complimentary Oreo gifts that motivated them 🤷🏼‍♀️ The one with the longest line had to the photobooth and it wasn’t a wonder why! People were dressed to impress in their Friday best, what with the dress code being a swanky black, pink or blue.

It’s harder than it looks okay.

And from there, things only got hotter and hotter (but not to the level of Playing With Fire la). A group of local dancers took center stage to perform several well-loved Blackpink choreos, including How You like That and Kill This Love. They were so good (and lowkey resembled Blackpink) that at one point this writer genuinely thought she was watching the real group 👀

Yas gurlsss

And after that, fans ran on and off the floor, taking turns to show their moves as Blackpink’s songs continued to play in the background. This writer would say that was the highlight of the whole event– seeing all the fans have a blast and cheering loudly for each other. These Typa Girls… can consider damn cool la.

Blackpink will be perfoming in Bukit Jalil on the 4th of March

Yall might know by now that Blackpink will soon be having their concert in Malaysia, as the 5th stop in the Asian leg of their world tour. It seems that tickets are still on sale so faster faster go buy if you’re interested in seeing the girls live. And if you’re going, Rapid KL has announced that they’ll be extending LRT services till 1am for public transport users. So go out there, have fun, and most importantly, be safe!
