This owl in Malaysia finds a safe place in this man’s shed

A wild owl in Malaysia has found a safe place in a man’s home. Based on his video dated 4 May, it seems like he rescued the owl.

This wild barred eagle owl has been ‘adopted’ by the man and his family. While scrolling through his videos it looks like this owl named Bubo comes back every three to seven days to get his feed of raw chicken. The man and his family seem to be taking good care of Bubo and he keeps coming back to visit them.

In the video above, Bubo also can be seen to be quite manja given that it’s a wild owl. The children also, seem to be attached to the owl as well.

Is it legal to keep owls in Malaysia?

It is illegal to keep owls as pets in Malaysia as they are deemed protected species. So, don’t try to be Harry Potter and get an owl!

The owl is free to roam and fly away whenever it wants to. From all his videos you can see that the owl is free to fly around. It can be seen perching on the electric wires, beams, and chairs in the porch.
