Turns out Malaysian consumers REALLY like Coway

Kyle Choi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coway Malaysia and Head of Asia Region Business Unit, Coway presents the 5 awards the comapny has achieved.

Most of us feel a little geli about drinking the tap water in Malaysia, so water purifiers are bound to be a common sight here. Coway has secured itself as not only Malaysian consumers’ top water purifier brand, but as our top brand in general too! And it’s not just thanks to its well-known advertising with Kpop stars, they’ve proven themselves as a company dedicated to innovation and improving people’s quality of life by achieving these awards in 2023.

For the 7th time, they were awarded Platinum under the Water Purifier category at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards. This isn’t just any award either, participants earn their place via consumer votes, reflecting that Malaysians view Coway’s products as reliable and a great value for money in the water purifier market.

Another award that cements Coway in the hearts and homes (and throats) of Malaysians is their International Heritage Brand Ward – Best Water Purifier Brand title at the Asia Halal Brand Awards (AHBA) for the 6th consecutive time. They don’t play-play with this award either, it’s endorsed by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Halal Industry Development Corporation (HIDC). Living in a Muslim-majority country where halal products are available in every corner, most of us aren’t aware how inaccessible they are in other countries. This award serves to globally emphasize the importance of Halal brands globally and promote outstanding ones.

Additionally, their Silver award in the Home Improvement Products & Stores category (Putra Brand Awards) and Gold in the Personal, Household & Outdoor Appliances category (Putra Aria Brand Awards), all also secured via consumer votes. These 2 awards were initiated by the Associated of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) and endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MARTRADE), and they serve to prove Coway’s continued top-tier skills in providing solutions for Malaysians.

As if the awards aren’t enough, a 2023 Brand Health Study report by KANTAR on Coway Malaysia reveals that Malaysians voted Coway as their top choice. They’re number 1 in ‘Willing to Purchase brand’ and also in ‘Brand Awareness’ in the water purifier category. So, Malaysians really do like Coway. A lot.

It’s not just Malaysian consumers, but Malaysian employees too! They’ve won 1st place in the Home and Wellness category at the GRADUAN Brand Awards 2023. This award focuses on both employers and employees, providing valuable insights into what factors people consider when choosing preferred workplaces in Malaysian industries.

But those are all awards achieved last year. What does Coway have in store for 2024? Looks like they’re set on prioritising product innovation as a fundamental aspect in future initiatives. With innovation, their products and services can be envisioned to bring about positive changes in everyone’s lives.

“2024 marks Coway’s 18th year of dedicated service to the Malaysian market. Reflecting on this journey, Coway would like to express our immense gratitude for the trust and support from fellow Malaysian public that have molded us into where we are today, thank you for choosing Coway as your preferred choice in wellness and innovation,” — Kyle Choi, CEO of Coway Malaysia and Head of Asia Region Business Unit.
