Nothing new launches in Malaysia – Phone (3) from RM3,299 & Headphone (1) at RM1,099

There was much ado about Nothing when they took to the stage to unveil the Phone (3) and Headphone (1) in Malaysia. The Phone (3) is their first flagship offering without the signature glyph lights, while the Headphone (1) is a guaranteed head-turner.
The Nothing Phone (3) is a playful flagship

Powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a 5150mAh silicon-carbon battery, the Phone (3) virtually guarantees all-day battery with seamless performance for multi-tasking, gaming, and AI processing.
Nothing takes what they call a “deliberate path” to AI, embedding it in ways that simplify or smoothens the process rather than including AI features for the sake of them being AI features. In that vein, the Phone (3) launches with:
- Essential Search – A universal search bar that that gives you instant access to contacts, photos, files, and internet searches.
- Flip to Record – A one-button push to record, transcribe, and summarize meetings.
- Essential Space – A central repository for brain- and info-dumping; all organized by AI
On the back end, glyph lights have been replaced with the Glyph Matrix, which is Nothing’s implementation of a second screen. What we can say is that the Glyph Matrix is unmistakably Nothing in style – a simple series of black-and-white dots that form on visual elements to convey information. Existing “Glyph Toys” include a battery indicator, custom contact icons, and a digital clock; along with whimsical games such as spin the bottle and a Magic 8 Ball.

Nothing has opened up the SDK, so you may see more user-developed Glyph Toys in the future.
The cameras are also upgraded, with 50MP sensors across the board for the primary, telephoto, ultra-wide, and selfie cameras. Nothing says this leads to improved lossless optical zoom, richer low-light shots with the 1/1.3″ main sensor, and 4K 60FPS video recording with optical image stabilization. The company has also collaborated with professional photographers to develop cinematic presets to easily juice up your images.

The Nothing Phone (3) is available in black and white options, with two configurations:
- 256GB storage + 12GB RAM – RM3,299
- 512GB storage + 16GB RAM – RM3,799
Pre-orders start on July 12th, and come with complimentary gifts that include the Nothing Ear (a), Nothing cap, Nothing lanyard, Nothing tote bag, and one-year extended warranty.
The Headphone (1) is a loud statement

If there’s one thing we can say about the Headphone (1), it’s that nothing else looks like it. The headphones retains elements of Nothing’s transparent aesthetic on it’s previous wireless devices, and evokes retro-futuristic cassette tape vibes.
Headphone (1) is the first result of Nothing’s partnership with KEF – a British manufacturer of high-end audio products. Leveraging KEF’s acoustic engineering and proprietary tuning tools, the custom-built 40 mm dynamic driver delivers rich, natural audio with deep bass, detailed mids, and crisp treble across all modes; including ANC, Transparency, and Spatial Audio.
Speaking of Spatial Audio, the Headphone (1) comes with built-in head tracking, which transforms any stereo source into a 360º soundstage. It also has support for Hi-Res Audio, LDAC, USB-C lossless playback, and, yes… a 3.5mm jack.

Our favorite feature on the headphones, though, are the controls. Eschewing finicky touch controls, the Headphone 1 uses tactile controls which are very cleverly integrated into the design. It uses a Roller, Paddle, and Button to adjust volume, navigate media, and switch ANC modes. The Button can also be customized to:
- Activate Channel Hop, which cycles between audio apps and favorite functions
- Trigger voice commands
- Launch News Reporter
- Take notes, fleeting thoughts, and reminders on the go through Essential Space (Nothing devices only)
Battery-wise, the Headphone (1) delivers up to 35 hours of listening time, and a quick 5-minute charge provides 2.4 hours of playback, all with ANC on.

Headphone (1) is available in black and white options from RM1,099. Pre-orders will also include a free Nothing headphone protective cover.
