Malaysia’s cheapest iPhone 16 postpaid plan has NO contract. Here’s the price comparison!

Buying the iPhone 16 through a telco is like making a Faustian deal. You’ll lock yourself down to a contract, pay for a postpaid plan you might not need, and actually end up not saving much (or any) money.

Definitely, positively, confirm not the most Apple Intelligence decision. Original image: “Faust and Mephistofle” by Eugène Siberdt, Public Domain.

But what if there’s a postpaid plan that has no contract, lower postpaid prices, and is actually cheaper than buying directly from authorized resellers or the Apple Store? Turns out, a plan like this actually exists and it’s not gonna end up Faust. Instead, it’s gonna end up Fast. Yes, 5G fast.

The 128GB iPhone 16 from Yes 5G will cost as little as RM604 – NO contract!

Yes 5G Infinite Cashback iPhone 16 plan price

Because offering the cheapest iPhone 15 postpaid plans last year isn’t enough, Yes 5G wants to push the limits further with the iPhone 16. We imagine someone in the Yes 5G meeting room said:

“Hey, everyone pays telcos to buy the iPhone. What if we do the opposite and pay people instead?

Oh, oh, better yet…. we DON’T tie them down to a contract!”

– Imaginary Yes 5G person who’d get thrown out the window at any other telco company

Somehow, instead of being thrown out the window, this person’s idea was approved and the Yes 5G Infinite Cashback Postpaid Plan was born.

It works on the premise that Yes 5G will not forcibly lock you down to a 24 or 36 month contract just because you want an iPhone. Instead, you’ll want to stay with Yes 5G even without a contract.

This is how it works:

  • You need to be 18 years old and above
  • You pay the regular price (RRP) of the phone upfront
  • Pick one of Yes 5G’s Infinite Cashback plan tiers
  • Get a cashback every month, for 35 months
  • If you cancel, there’s no penalty and the phone is still yours

The amount of cashback depends on which plan you take. You’ll get the first cashback in 60 days upon account activation, and this will continue every month for the next 35 months. Although there’s no credit check required, remember to pay your bill lah. The cashback will be forfeited if your account is barred or suspended.

Using the 128 iPhone 16 (RM3,999) as an example, you will get RM13 monthly cashback on the Basic 58 plan. This works out to RM455 over 35 months, meaning that you’d only pay RM3,544. If you take the Ultra 178 plan, you’d be getting back RM3,395 – making the phone only RM604.

The Infinite Cashback plan applies to the entire range, including the iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Yes 5G wants you to compare the iPhone 16 prices yourself

You might be thinking that this sounds too good to be true. And it is. These prices don’t include the monthly payments for the plan. But because a mobile plan is necessary to use the phone, it’s memang going to be part of the cost whether with Yes 5G or any other telco.

Luckily, Yes 5G has one of the lowest postpaid prices in the market.

Last year, we worked with Yes 5G to painstakingly calculate iPhone 15 postpaid prices to find the lowest one (it’s theirs). This year, they made a calculator so you can easily compare the prices yourself. You can check out the website in this link or use the one below:

The Infinite Cashback plan also gives you Infinite Freedom

Perhaps the greatest perk of the Infinite Cashback plan is that it puts the power completely in your hands. If you don’t like Yes 5G for whatever reason, you can cancel it without any penalties instead of being forced to stay on.

In a weird way, it also kind of feels like you’re not the one subscribing to Yes 5G, but rather Yes 5G is the one subscribing to you. Not gonna lie, it feels kinda nice.

But if you’re not into this newfangled approach (or can’t pay the full iPhone price upfront) and prefer traditional 24 or 36 month installment, Yes 5G still offers monthly installments under the Infinite+ plan… still at the lowest Total Cost of Ownership price compared to other telcos.

You can check out both the Infinite+ and Infinite Cashback plans here, or use the calculator below to compare-compare.
