Haidilao is celebrating their refreshed tomato soup base with prizes worth RM12k. Here’s how you can win your share.
Hotpot fans rejoice! Haidilao has recently revamped their signature tomato hot pot soup base; retaining their classic tangy flavor, while also incorporating fresher and juicier tomato chunks. And to celebrate, they decided to invite us over to try this new refreshed version of their tomato soup for ourselves!
So, here’s what we thought…
The revamped tomato soup base is perfect for non-spice lovers!
If you’re like us (or at least, like this particular writer), the simple thought of having your food boiled in Tomyam or Mala is enough to make your eyes water. But as a result, your options can become very limited, and drinking the same ol’ chicken soup flavor gets pretty boring with time, right?
So, to provide justice for us non-spicy food lovers, Haidilao introduced the tomato soup base in China over 20 years ago; offering a unique sweet and tangy option beyond your traditional soup choices. Needless to say, its popularity boomed- and the tomato soup flavor has now become a staple in many hotpot and steamboat restaurants.
During our tasting session, we paired the tomato soup with beef slices, fishballs, tofu, vegetables, fish, and more. Our favorite pairing by far was the sliced beef, that when paired with the tomato soup, provided a smooth and buttery flavor that was complemented by the sweet tanginess of the soup.
After our meal, we were also informed that at certain time intervals, we could stand a chance to win some adorable tomato-themed merchandise, such as tomato keychains and mini-tomato headbands, during our meal. All we would need to do is simply play their interactive game called “Tomato Tongue Twister Rewards!”, which will be available to customers for the entire month of August.
