Mountain Dew brings PUBG to real life in Dew Challenge 2023

Mountain Dew and PUBG return to merge the virtual battleground with the real world; in one of the largest PUBG-themed paintball tournaments – the Dew Challenge. This year, the Dew Challenge goes national, spanning across 4 Malaysian regions: North, South, Central, and East.

The prize? Up to RM500,000 worth of cash and prizes plus 110 special prizes from HONOR, the first official mobile sponsor for this year’s Dew Challenge.

Mountain Dew x PUBG Dew Challenge 2023

If you think you’re capable of winner winner chicken dinner with a glass of Mountain Dew, you can start securing your spot by:

  1. Buying a 400ml bottle of Mountain Dew
  2. Head over to the Dew Challenge Website
  3. Key in the unique code located under the bottle cap
  4. Repeat steps 1 – 3

Each redemption gives you in-game prizes, merchandise, partner vouchers and – most importantly – a random number of Dew Coins which contribute to the regional leaderboard rankings. The top players from each regional leaderboard are given priority to participate in the challenge!

And in true PUBG fashion, the launch of the challenge will be accompanied by a treasure hunt. Inspired by the iconic PUBG game mechanic of parachuting into drop zones on the map, the treasure hunt begins with you choosing the region where your journey begins. Instead of scavenging for weapons and supplies, you’ll be getting loot boxes that’ll net you extra leaderboard points and more.

Look out for these trucks in the Klang Valley too!

You’ll receive loot box sighting notifications from the Dew Challenge website, which will be replenished at different time intervals at partner outlets such as MBO Cinemas, Morac Go Kart, Chicago Chicken City, Taco Bell, and Domino’s outlets across the country. Once you find them, scan the QR code and redeem prizes to bolster your leaderboard standings.

Ooh, and if you’re in the Klang Valley, watch out for the special Dew Challenge roving trucks that have been making an appearance at various locations including universities, partner outlets, night markets, and malls. These trucks hold a number of PUBG-inspired activities such as a Mountain Dew x PUBG vending machine, and a shooting gallery where you can test out your real life aim for more prizes!

The registration period, treasure hunt and roving truck will run throughout October 1st – 31st , followed by regionals in November, and the Grand Finale in December with more details to come.
