Play triple A games on underpowered PCs with NVIDIA GeForce NOW cloud gaming, powered by Yes 5G
There used to be a popular meme where someone would brag about their PC hardware and the appropriate response was “…yes, but can it run Crysis?”. With cloud gaming and a fast internet connection, the answer is yes – even on old underpowered laptops.
This is what we got to experience when Yes 5G organized a casual tournament at their Experience Store in Lot 10. Playing on 8-year-old basic work laptops, we managed to pull in second place at Rocket League.
Cloud gaming basically processes the entire game on a remote server and streams it to your device. This means you can play the latest AAA games on new or older laptops, tablets, or even smartphones without worrying about graphics, performance, or storage.
Compared to other overseas cloud gaming services, GeForce Now’s local presence also ensures lower ping. Our favorite part? You can also run any game on NVIDA GeForce Now’s roster on a Mac.
With a fast connection, cloud gaming makes modern and AAA games accessible to every Malaysian
Yes 5G became GeForce Now’s Alliance Partner in Malaysia in 2023, which Yes 5G CEO Wing K. Lee says is part of the company’s mission to democratize technology. With Yes 5G’s uncapped bandwidth and speed, along with GeForce Now removing the need for expensive gaming hardware; it allows more Malaysians to enjoy gaming regardless of the devices they have.
“All you need is 4GB of RAM on your PC. You don’t even need a gaming chair.”
– Wing K. Lee, YTL Communications CEO
With YES already offering the lowest prices for 5G, they’re also making GeForce now more accessible with the introduction of brand new gaming passes, allowing Yes 5G customers to taste the action during a day off with a 1-Day Pass (RM10) or a long weekend with a 3-Day Pass (RM20).
For hardcore gamers, subscriptions are RM50/month and RM500/annually for standard members, and RM30/month and 300/annually for Yes 5G members
Try GeForce Now for yourself at YES Experience Stores
Perhaps we were extra impressed with how well the games ran on the clunkers that Yes provided is because we actually had a similar model in our office. We knew it wouldn’t reliably run solitaire, much less Rocket League or CounterStrike 2.
But you can try it out yourself at the YES Experience Store in Lot 10 to see how seamless the games will run on phones, tablets, and smart TVs. Yes 5G will also be bringing the GeForce NOW Powered by Yes 5G Experience to more locations in the near future, including PJ, Sabah, and Penang.
You can sign up now and claim GeForce NOW Powered by Yes 5G passes via the Yes 5G Gaming website, or get more information via Yes 5G Gaming profiles on Instagram, Facebook and X.
