Sunway Fertility Centre celebrates the birth of 1,100 IVF babies!

When it comes to bringing new life into the world, Sunway Fertility Centre (SFC) isn’t just playing around. They recently celebrated a legendary milestone – 1,100 IVF babies born across their centres. That’s enough babies to fill a whole neighborhood… or at least several packed mamaks during football season.

1,100 Babies and a whole lot of hope

The big celebration went down at Sunway Medical Centre and Sunway Fertility Centre Kuching, complete with a cake-cutting ceremony (because what’s a Malaysian celebration without cake?) and free ear and language screenings for the IVF babies. Freebies and cake? Now that’s how you party, Malaysian style!

Sunway Fertility Centre celebrates 1,100 IVF babies being born

“Reaching the milestone of 1,100 IVF babies is a testament to the dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment of our team of specialists, nurses, and customer service professionals. This celebration is not just about numbers but about the countless hopes and new beginnings we have helped create for families. As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our mission to bring joy to even more families through advanced fertility care,”

Woon Ming Ming, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Fertility Centre

Infertility in Malaysia is more common than you think

Did you know infertility affects more Malaysians than you’d expect? The World Health Organisation flags it as a growing issue. In fact, 20% of SFC’s 2024 patients were international – double the number from 2022. Apparently, Malaysia’s not just known for nasi lemak; we’re making a name for fertility treatments too. So if you’re looking for an IVF baby, SFC advises couples to seek help early.

“We believe in raising awareness about infertility, which is a common issue in Malaysia.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach, as we provide personalised assessments and
counselling to each couple. Importantly, we urge couples to seek treatment early and
not to give up hope,”

Tech-savvy baby-making and award winning care that’s always open

SFC combines expert care with cutting-edge tech. Here’s what they offer:

  • Cryopreservation (freeze now, plan later)
  • Egg and sperm donations
  • Surgical sperm retrieval
  • Treatments for endometriosis and PCOS
  • Reproductive surgeries

Think of them as the Waze of fertility – finding the best route to parenthood.

Various screening and consultation activities were carried out at Sunway Fertility Centre’s 1100 IVF Babies Celebration event held at Sunway Medical Centre and in Kuching.

In 2024, SFC bagged the Healthcare Asia Award for Customer Service Initiative of the Year. Why? Because they offer a 24-hour Patient Careline run by qualified fertility nurses. 24/7 support – that’s customer service even some food apps can’t beat.

Plus, since 2023, SFC has been certified by the Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC) – proving they’re serious about safety and best practices.

What’s next? More babies, of course

SFC isn’t slowing down. They’re committed to helping even more families across Malaysia and beyond. If you’re thinking about starting a family, maybe it’s time to give them a call. After all, 1,100 babies (and counting) can’t be wrong.

And hey, the next celebration might just be for your little one. #BabyGoals
