The Coffee Bean raises RM63,500 for Malaysians in need this ramadhan

We all know The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) as the place where you can chill with a swanky ice blended and maybe pretend to work on your laptop while secretly scrolling TikTok. But this Ramadhan, they’ve brewed something a little stronger than coffee—a big dose of kindness.
Through their Caring Cup initiative, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Malaysia just announced they’ve channelled RM63,500 to help Malaysians in need. And before you say “eh, marketing gimmick lah,” hold up. This isn’t just a one-off duit raya moment—they’re partnering with some heavy-hitters in the NGO space to do some real good.
1. Helping Sekinchan tornado victims with MERCY Malaysia
In case you missed it, a recent tornado hit Sekinchan, Selangor—yes, tornado, not typo. It left families scrambling to rebuild their lives, right before Raya. CBTL jumped in with RM30,000 (cash and kind) for Project Kasih Sekinchan via MERCY Malaysia. The relief includes food boxes, essentials, and some festive cheer.
Because let’s be real—when your roof is gone, a reminder that someone cares can mean the world.
2. 800 pastries for people who really needed it

If you’ve ever had one of CBTL’s scones or cinnamon rolls, you know they don’t play around with pastries. Now imagine handing those to someone who’s hungry and hasn’t had a proper meal in days.
That’s exactly what they did with Kechara Soup Kitchen—donating 800 pastries over four weeks to KL’s underserved communities. That’s one sweet way to fight food insecurity.
3. RM30,000 for healthcare via Assunta Hospital
Medical bills can be a nightmare, especially if you’re from a marginalised background. So CBTL gave RM30,000 to Assunta Hospital, which has been doing the good work since before your parents were born (okay lah, since 1954).
The goal? Help underserved individuals get access to healthcare they otherwise couldn’t afford.
The Coffee Bean is more than coffee, it’s about sustained impact
All in, CBTL Malaysia handed out RM63,500 worth of aid this Ramadhan. But what’s even more impressive? They’ve built a system where your everyday cup of coffee helps drive actual, sustained impact.
So the next time you’re sipping your flat white or smashing that cheese bagel, know that you’re also contributing to something bigger—whether it’s feeding the hungry or helping tornado victims rebuild their lives.
“At The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® Malaysia, we believe that a cup of kindness goes a long way, and that true impact comes from meaningful, sustained efforts. Through our Caring Cup programme, which is made possible by the generosity of our customers, we are proud to support initiatives that bring real change to communities in need.”
Pink Fong, Regional Marketing Director of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® Malaysia and Singapore
Because at CBTL, they’re proving that being a decent human bean doesn’t require grand gestures. Sometimes, it starts with something as simple as a cup of coffee.
