This mobile game tourney is giving out RM750k in cash, vouchers and loot

If you think mobile gaming is just cincai swiping on your phone, wait till you see 16 pro level teams screaming at each other live in a shopping mall atrium.

Mountain Dew’s Dew Challenge 2025 is back and this time it’s going full MOBA madness across Penang, JB, and KL. There’s RM750,000 in total prizes up for grabs, and the qualifiers are literally happening on the ground with actual humans, cosplayers, gamers and Mountain Dew booths.

Oh, and admission is FREE.

Either you win big or enjoy all the side quests

At each location, 16 teams will go full gladiator mode in a Best-of-One single elimination showdown. One winner will walk away with RM5,000 in cash, a slot in the Grand Finale and the biggest prize of all, bragging rights.

Even if you’re not playing, there’s still plenty to do while you’re hanging out at the Dew Challenge. You can sip on samples of Mountain Dew to keep your energy up, and even stand a chance to win exclusive ROG merch just by being there. Curious about the latest gaming gear? Try out the brand new ROG Phone 9, which comes with a buttery smooth 185Hz refresh rate.

And yes, COS-MIC Stars will be making an appearance too, fully suited up in some very recognisable skins including a few possibly shirtless, very buff in-game heroes that may or may not awaken something in you. No judgment.

With RM750,000 in total goodies (including RM200k cash, RM250k in-game tokens, and RM300k worth of makan vouchers from 4Fingers, Jollibee, and The Chicken Rice Shop), this is one of the biggest mobile esports pushes Malaysia has ever seen.

The whole event is designed to make mobile esports accessible to everyone, not just hardcore gamers with RM5,000 mice and chairs that look like Gundam robots. And with Honor of Kings already hitting 1 million downloads in Malaysia within a week of launch, this feels like the start of something big, as echoed by Amy Gan, the Vice President of Marketing, Etika Sdn. Bhd.

“Gaming today is a force that brings people closer, unites communities, and inspires the next generation of digital athletes. At Mountain Dew, we’ve always stood for energy, boldness, and being right there in the action, and that’s exactly what the Dew Challenge 2025 On-Ground Qualifiers are all about. This isn’t just a tournament; it’s a rallying point for gamers across Malaysia to come together, compete live, and be part of something bigger than themselves.”

Registrations are now open and you can do so here. Plus, participation is free for all Malaysian players. In the event of overwhelming demand, teams will be selected via a fair random draw and the confirmed ones will be notified in advance. So whether you’re fighting for fame, flexing your cosplay, or just thristy for Mountain Dew, the Dew Challenge 2025 is where it’s all happening.
