10 funny Malaysian company signs that actually passed SSM

If there’s one thing we remember from this article we published in 2014, it’s that Malaysians love funny company signs, and even though we promised y’all a part 2, and for some reason, it never happened.

Well, that’s about to change, cuz we found more ridiculous signboards lying around waiting to be made fun of (after almost ten years), so sit back, grab a stiff drink, and try not to choke on it.

1. Niama Hotpot (Aman Suria, Petaling Jaya)

With a name like that, we assume the hotpot here is either:

  • So bad that you’ll be swearing when you’re paying the bill; or
  • So good you’ll be screaming for other someone else’s mummy

Intriguing/10. And while we’re on the topic of mothers…

2. Lim LaoBu’s Noodle House (USJ 21 Subang Jaya)

This could also go one of two ways: either (in Hokkien) Mother Lim’s Noodle House, or Your Mum’s Noodle House. What’s with businesspeople and having an Oedipus complex, though?

3. Chokker Pets Lover (Kepong)

While we have heard of people who enjoy a smidge of choking from time to time, we’ve never heard of any pets who said, “Harder!” whenever you choke them. PSA: don’t ever choke your pets.

4. Podhub (Taman Maluri, Cheras)

This writer heard this sound effect play in his head when he spotted this lovely vape shop in Cheras, and no, you don’t need a VPN to masuk.

5. So High Seafood (Sri Petaling)

This one’s quite clever: ‘high’ sounds like crab in Cantonese (蟹), and the restaurant is on the second floor, so it is relatively high… compared to the ground floor. As a bonus, it also sounds like a popular Cantonese swear word.

6. Restoran Te Te Hainan Kopitiam (Cheras)

Legend has it that the drinks at this kopitiam taste like got extra susu. Any mammary enthusiasts out there wanna help us verify?

7. Restoran Femely (Kepong)

Maybe if they changed their name to Femely Mat and sold tomyam oden, they’d get more business.

8. Zagma Sdn Bhd (Petaling Jaya)

This company’s name has much in common with the Wendy’s fast-food chain. If you wanna know why, type “What’s Zagma?” in the comments section.

9. 69 Barber’s (Cheras)

Whenever Jake gets a haircut there, he comes to the office looking refreshed the next day ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

10. We Serve The Best Steak (The Curve)

Okay, honestly, this one’s more of the shop’s tagline, but if they’re proud enough to show it like it’s their signboard, respect. If anyone’s been to Me’Nate Steakhouse at The Curve, let us know whether they serve the best steak or not.
