These days, finding someone who’s NOT on social media is like finding a fully stuffed karipap outside of IKEA.

Tak percaya? Just grab the phone of any Abu, Ah Beng or Ambiga, and you’ll probably find either TikTok or Instagram on there. Or Facebook if they’re grew up in the first Mahathir era. If you see LinkedIn, just do the world a favor and yeet dat phone.

But seriously, though, it’s somewhat amazing that we live in an age where most people spend hours every day looking at content made by other, everyday people not much different from themselves. In fact, jadi influencer – someone who uses social media to promote stuff and lifestyle choices – is now an actual career choice, especially among the young-young people.

But how does one jadi influencer? Pay good or not? Post about what? These are some of the questions that we ask ourselves every morning on the Damansara-Puchong Highway.

“Maybe I should start making local content… eh wait.”

We’re sure we’re not the only ones curious about the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and luckily, Think City – an impact organization dedicated to making cities more livable and sustainable – feel the same way too.

Right now, they’re working on something called Kreatif KL, where they’re trying to make downtown KL a better place for businesses, tourists, and the people who live there as well.

Influencers have a major part to play in making that happen, so besides wanting to kepoh about stuff like…

  • What kind of stuff do Malaysians usually watch and post about on their social medias?
  • How many Malaysians have actually started flame wars online?
  • How hard do influencers werk to get support from their followers?
  • Do Malaysians prefer to tweet or post one for the gram?
  • …and many more!

…we’re also working together with them to hold workshops where we mentor budding influencers on how to make great content. So if you want to be a part of our first ever content workshop (for FREE!) fill up this form before 5 August 2024! More details inside the form.

He will come for you, but you must run and hide. Survive three days, and your wish will come true. Failure to escape will cause you to be late to everything for the rest of your life.
