Alter Ego and MAG dominate the APAC Predator League 2025 in KL

Kuala Lumpur turned into the gaming capital of the region on 11th and 12 January 2025 as the APAC Predator League 2025 stormed into town, showcasing top-tier esports action and a festival of epic proportions.
After intense battles against the best teams from 14 regions, Alter Ego (VALORANT) and Myth Avenue Gaming (Dota 2) emerged victorious, hoisting the Predator Shield in front of roaring fans and pocketing a cool USD 65,000 each. Talk about starting the year with a bang!
VALORANT Grand Finals: Alter Ego’s comeback kings

The VALORANT finals on January 11 were nothing short of electrifying. Alter Ego, representing Acer Indonesia, went head-to-head with ZOL Esports from the Philippines. With ZOL mounting a jaw-dropping six-round comeback to level the game at 11-11 after being down 5-11, Alter Ego had their backs against the wall.
But instead of crumbling, they flexed their resilience and tactical prowess to clinch the title and silence their rivals. Team ZOL walked away with USD 20,000, while Crest Gaming Zst (Japan) and Xipto Esport (Malaysia) secured USD 7,500 each as second and third runners-up.
Dota 2 Grand Finals: Myth Avenue Gaming brings it home

Malaysia’s very own Myth Avenue Gaming made sure the home crowd had plenty to cheer about. On January 12, they crushed Team Helios from Indonesia with a decisive 2-0 victory to claim the Predator Shield.
Their triumph wasn’t just a win for the team but a proud moment for the Malaysian esports scene. Team Helios took home USD 20,000, while Team Ivory (Philippines) and 123 Gaming (Mongolia) rounded out the top spots, earning USD 7,500 each.
Fans got involved with Intel Allstar
It wasn’t just the champions who stole the spotlight. Fans got involved through the Intel Allstar Vote, which saw players snag USD 2,000 each for excelling in their roles. The VALORANT Allstar Team, headlined by Alter Ego’s Cud and Ray4c, showcased why they’re the ones to beat. Meanwhile, Team Helios’ roster dominated the Dota 2 Allstar lineup, with players like Cije and Azura cementing their legendary status.

And let’s not forget the MVPs. Alter Ego’s Cud and Myth Avenue Gaming’s Bob King took home USD 10,000 each for their jaw-dropping performances. No big deal, right?
Not just gaming, but a celebration for everyone
The Predator League wasn’t just about intense matches; it was a full-blown celebration of esports and pop culture. Acer treated fans to exclusive champion avatars, a new theme song, and performances by K-pop legends Sandara Park and Minzy of 2NE1.

Local heroes Aina Abdul and Hael Husaini also graced the stage, alongside G22 from the Philippines. And if you’re a cosplay fan, the Coswalk Competition delivered some serious eye candy, with Valkia the Bloody from Warhammer: Age of Sigmar taking top honours.
