Broadway Magic Meets Charity: ‘Get On Your Feet’ with Farah Dato Seri’ Sulaiman!

On the 23rd and 24th of September 2023, Cancer Research Malaysia (CRMY) will be bringing Broadway to you, as they will be set to ignite the stage with the second run of their charity musical event, “Get On Your Feet.” This exceptional show, hosted at the Universiti Malaya Experimental Theatre in Kuala Lumpur, promises an unforgettable experience.

“Get On Your Feet” is not just any musical event… It’s a remarkable fusion of entertainment and purpose, all for a noble cause—to raise funds for Cancer Research Malaysia’s groundbreaking work in the fight against cancer. In the words of CRMY’s CEO, Andy Khoo:

“it’s a celebration of human resilience, a showcase of artistic passion, and a testament to our shared commitment to a future free from the fear of cancer.”

The event spans two vibrant sessions each day, starting at 3:00 PM and 8:30 PM, ensuring that audiences of all ages can join in the celebration. But what makes this event even more special is that it coincides with September 24th, recognized globally as World Cancer Research Day, magnifying the impact of CRMY’s mission on a global scale.

At the heart of this musical masterpiece is Farah Dato’ Seri Sulaiman, a renowned producer and choreographer. With her expertise, “Get On Your Feet” will come alive with iconic songs from 18 diverse musicals, including beloved titles like Wicked, Mamma Mia, Hamilton, Chicago, Dear Evan Hansen, and South Pacific. Farah Sulaiman’s signature choreography promises to make this an extravaganza like no other.

This musical spectacle, directed by Sabrina Hassan and featuring vocal coach Alesia Dhana, showcases the talents of over 40 performers. Accompanied by esteemed guest artists Yon Lynn, Elvira Arul, and Johan Yusof, along with the Sayang Dancers, the stage will be set for an enchanting performance.
