Malaysia has less than 200 dermatologists, so CeraVe’s here to bridge the skincare gap

CeraVe Malaysia's new product launching

Skincare isn’t just about beauty, skincare is also healthcare. Come on, it’s the largest organ of your body, it’s incredibly important to take care of it. Despite almost a quarter of the Malaysian child population having eczema, there’s only 125 dermatologists in Malaysia. And so, CeraVe aims to make skincare more accessible by working with a panel of certified dermatologists to introduce 6 core products to cater to diverse skincare needs, available at major pharmacies across the country.

CeraVe’s name isn’t just some avant garde display. Their products include ceramides and MultiVesicular Emulsion Technology (MVE). They not only restore skin barrier function but also provides long-term moisturisation with just one use, helping to retain moisture for healthy and comfortable skin.

Compared to other regular moisturisers with a single release formulation, CeraVe’s MVE technology delivers and releases essential ceramides throughout the day with just one use, ensuring prolonged hydration.

“With only one dermatologist for every 241,000 people in Malaysia, many individuals lack access to professional skincare recommendations. CeraVe, globally recognised for its efficacy in restoring the skin’s natural barrier, aims to bridge this accessibility gap for Malaysians,” — Ashlee Ng, General Manager of L’Oreal Malaysia’s Dermatological Beauty Division.

The launch event also featured a panel discussion with people who have their own experiences with skin issues. One such person is Dr. Shazril, who relayed his experiences of 2 babies with eczema, causing constant itching and redness. Besides the pain the condition causes his child, skincare products also had to be frequently and regularly applied throughout the day. However, CeraVe’s product, which is also safe for babies, ensured long-lasting moisturisation, therefore making the family’s management of the condition easier.
