Cuti-Cuti Cikgu An Initiative To Help Teachers De-Stress

During the Teacher’s Day Launching ceremony, YB Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of  Education of Malaysia, announced the Cuti-Cuti Cikgu for teachers. This initiative is taken to ensure that the educators of our nation will be able to go for affordable holidays and enjoy the experience to the fullest during school holidays.

YB Fadhila said,

“This is to appreciate the contribution of teachers through attractive holiday package opportunities, this initiative can also promote tourism destinations and stimulate the national economy.”

This motion is taken through discounts on flight tickets, accommodation, land transportation, and theme parks. The Cuti-Cuti Cikgu program is made possible by working together with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

The Ministry of Education has partnered with AirAsia, Traveloka, and Bank Rakyat to ensure that our nation’s educators get the best from this initiative.

One thing that cannot be denied is that even during holidays, teachers are called in for meetings to plan ahead for the year. Sometimes they also have to go back early to school during holidays to clean and set up the class for students for the year to come.

Although this initiative seems like a positive movement to ensure teachers enjoy and make use of the school holidays to the fullest, some teachers say otherwise.

We hope our country’s educators will be able to enjoy the much-deserved break with the discounts available to them.
