If you love the complex, tangy, spicy, and the yummy sedap world of Nyonya cuisine, you’re going to want to mark your calendars because JP Peranakan Palate Week is coming to Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur from 6 to 14 December 2024. And here’s the clincher—Malaysia’s icon Chef Florence Tan, the ultimate ambassador of Peranakan cuisine, will be there to serve up her signature dishes!

In a time when fusion food often steals the limelight, JP Peranakan Palate Week is a refreshing reminder of Malaysia’s OG culinary heritage. Peranakan cuisine is about history, culture, and storytelling through food—and events like this keep it alive.

Happening at JPteres, this culinary celebration is basically like a foodie pilgrimage. For two glorious days on 6 and 7 December, Chef Florence will be joining the JPteres kitchen team to present a special menu packed with authentic Nyonya flavours. They will be serving some:

  • Chicken Sek: A robust, flavourful dish that’s going to make you wonder why you ever settled for less.
  • Fried Nyonya Noodles with Rojak: Sweet, sour, savoury… the perfect trinity of flavours.
  • Ikan Gerang Assam: Tangy and spicy enough to kick your taste buds into high gear.
  • Sup Itik Tim: A warm, comforting duck soup that’ll have you slurping in delight.

The JP Weekday Lunch Buffet is priced at MYR 128 nett per adult and MYR 64 nett per child, while the Gerai@JPDinner Buffet is priced at MYR 158 nett per adult, with complimentary dining for children aged 12 and below.

Chef Florence, is a Malaccan-born culinary legend, and an international ambassador for Nyonya cuisine, has long championed Peranakan culinary skills, demonstrating her expertise in Malaysia and internationally.
