Nestlé Malaysia introduces Omega Gold to address heart disease

While heart disease is highly preventable, it remains a leading cause of death in Malaysia. Half a million Malaysians are affected by hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity. To address these growing concerns, Nestlé Malaysia introduces Nestlé Omega Gold.

Specially formulated for individuals aged 50 and above, Nestlé Omega Gold addresses the “3 Highs”…

  • High Cholesterol
  • High Blood Pressure; and
  • High Blood Sugar

…which are significant risk factors in heart disease.

Studies have shown that a third of heart attack deaths occur in individuals under the age of 60. In fact, Malaysian cardiovascular patients are 10 years younger than those in developed countries, which is alarming. Currently, 1 in 3 adults in Malaysia have high cholesterol, with half of them unaware of their condition.

With Nestlé’s dedication to nutrition and wellness, Omega Gold is a nutritional solution designed to help Malaysians take control of their heart health. It contains Acticol (1.2g of plant sterols) proven to lower cholesterol, Potassium to help maintain normal blood pressure, and Inulin – which studies have shown can help maintain good blood sugar control.

At the launch of Nestlé Omega Gold, Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Malaysia, shared:

“The launch of Nestlé® Omega Gold is a significant step in our commitment to supporting Malaysians in managing their heart health…

However, we recognize that addressing heart health requires collective action which we undertake with our longstanding partners such as Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (YJM) and Institut Jantung Negara Foundation (IJNF) to empower Malaysians to raise awareness about heart health, encourage early detection through regular screenings, and promote healthier lifestyle choices through innovative solutions.”

Dato’ Dr Aljafri Abdul Majid, Chairman of Yayasan Jantung Malaysia, highlighted the seriousness of heart disease during the launch event stating,

“Heart disease is a silent killer with one in six deaths in Malaysia linked to it. Often, it goes undetected until it’s too late. Early detection and proactive management are crucial to reducing its impact on individuals and families. Our partnership with Nestlé Malaysia spans over 20 years, demonstrating a shared commitment to promoting heart health among Malaysians.”

– Dato’ Dr Aljafri Abdul Majid, Chairman of Yayasan Jantung Malaysia

Nestlé Malaysia urges all Malaysians to make heart health a daily priority through regular screenings, adopting a healthier lifestyle. If the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach, then perhaps incorporating the Nestlé Omega range into your daily meal routine is a healthier next step.
