OPPO new Find X8 Ultra has FIVE rear cameras, and it might makan your DSLR

When most of us are still figuring out how to take a decent portrait without our nose looking 3D-printed, OPPO went ahead and broke the camera game with the introduction of their new Find X8 Ultra – and yes, it comes with not one, not two, but five rear cameras. Bruh.
If you’re wondering whether that’s overkill… you’d be absolutely correct. But also, kind of amazing.
“Next-Gen Penta Camera System” = Like a transformer, but for photographers

At the centre of the Find X8 Ultra flex is the Next-Gen Penta Camera System, developed in collaboration with the legendary camera company Hasselblad – you know, the people who make cameras for astronauts and rich uncles.
Here’s what you’re getting on the back:
- 50MP Ultra-Wide
- 50MP Wide with 1-inch sensor (basically the holy grail for mobile sensors)
- 50MP 3x Periscope Telephoto (can focus from 10cm away, so you can finally take legit macro shots of your nasi lemak sambal)
- 50MP 6x Periscope Telephoto (151% more light intake = zoom in at night also still boleh nampak)
- True Chroma Camera (fancy name for something that makes your skin tones not look like roti bakar)

TL;DR: It’s the camera version of an all-you-can-eat buffet.
If you’re a photography nerd, OPPO is really trying to seduce you
Still using manual mode and calling yourself a “photo enthusiast”? OPPO sees you. The Find X8 Ultra comes with upgraded Master Mode that can shoot 50MP RAW MAX, auto Night Mode, focus peaking, and 15 filter presets – so you can pretend you’re shooting for NatGeo even if you’re just snapping your cat.
There’s also this HyperTone Image Engine thing that uses AI to tweak the lighting and colors so your photo doesn’t end up looking like a low-budget Instagram filter from 2012.

And with continuous zoom in Hasselblad Portrait Mode from 1x to 6x, you can compose the perfect shot without doing the awkward photographer squat.
Video also no joke – 4K 120fps with Dolby Vision
Yup, it’s not just for photos. The X8 Ultra shoots 4K 60fps Dolby Vision video on all four rear cameras and the front one. Want slow-mo? The 1x and 3x lenses can do 4K at 120fps, so now your TikTok makan videos can be in glorious ultra HD slow motion as you break that yolk.
All this… and it’s still thin?!
Somehow, with all these cameras, OPPO still managed to make the Find X8 Ultra only 8.78mm thick. That’s slimmer than the kuih lapis you had for breakfast.
It also packs:
- 6.82” QHD+ flat screen (no more weird curves messing with your thumb)
- IP68 & IP69 rating (so tahan water and tahan jatuh – no need cry when your phone dives into the longkang)
- 6100mAh battery + 100W SUPERVOOC™ charging (from kosong to full faster than your teh ais order)
- Snapdragon 8 Elite + 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage (basically can edit your Raya video while stuck in the jam)

And yes, there’s a compact version — but only if you’re in China
Alongside the Ultra, OPPO also launched the Find X8s and X8s+, which are smaller but still powerful enough to scare your DSLR into early retirement. Buuut bad news — they’re only available in China. So unless your tangan kecik comes with a China address, no luck (yet).
There’s also a blinged-out Watch X2 Mini with 18K rose gold (for those who like their tech with some flex), and a Pad 4 Pro tablet for productivity (or let’s be honest — Netflix in bed).
So, should you sell your camera gear?
If you’re a casual user, OPPO’s Find X8 Ultra is honestly overkill – but in the best possible way. It’s the phone version of someone who brings a katana to a butter knife fight. For content creators, hobbyist photographers, and anyone who wants to shoot viral videos without carrying a whole backpack of gear, this might be the most OPPO-riffic phone yet.
Now if only they threw in a tripod and some free cloud storage…
