Shell Malaysia goes V(ader)-Power with collectible Star Wars Racer cars
When Shell Malaysia invited us to the launch of their Bluetooth Motorsports Car Collection for this year, they were being particularly coy – only telling us it was in collaboration with Disney, and it was movie themed, and that we would not be disappointed. Naturally, we thought it’d be this:
But nope. When we actually got there, let’s just say….
“These are the cars you’re looking for.” – Obi-Wan Carnobi
Teaming up with The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia, the Star Wars Racers Collection is a limited edition series of 6 remote-controlled cars with designs that are instantly recognizable to 501st Legion-level fans and Star Wars casuals alike.

The cars retain the special features from last year’s Shell Motorsports Collection, including bluetooth control and proprietary smart battery. However, it does comes with something new this year…
At the launch, General Manager of Shell Mobility Malaysia Seow Lee Ming said that Shell Malaysia was the first in the world to incorporate the Star Wars-inspired racing designs beyond toy cars, with the inclusion of digital versions that players can explore in the Shell Racing mobile app. The app is now themed after galactic adventures, and is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
