The Race to RM500k begins for Mountain Dew x Honor of Kings ‘The Dew Challenge 2025’

Following their impressive run with PUBG (that gave them two Guinness World Records to be exact), Mountain Dew teams up with Honor of Kings, the world’s largest Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, for this season’s Dew Challenge.

It’s packed with tournaments, exclusive rewards, and a prize pool worth up to RM500k, including limited edition sneakers worth RM7,000! (sheesh!)

To kick things off, Mountain Dew just dropped an electrifying hype video featuring the legendary Honor of Kings heroes, Lam and Agudo

This year, the tournament is bigger and better, with three tiers of competition leading up to an epic grand final.

What is the Dew Challenge?

The Dew Challenge began as a physical obstacle course competition before turning into a mobile gaming one in 2015. The challenge always consists of numerous tournaments where participants compete to stand a chance to win prize pools worth at least RM100k, which has only grown larger over the years.

And you don’t have to be a professional gamer, according to the Vice President of Marketing at Etika Sdn Bhd, Amy Gan.

“Gaming is no longer just entertainment; it’s a cultural movement, and Mountain Dew is proud to fuel that energy. By partnering with Honor of Kings, we’re making esports more inclusive and accessible, inspiring a new generation of gamers to dream big and achieve greatness.”

– Amy Gan, Vice President of Marketing at Etika Sdn Bhd.

This challenge welcomes everyone, from amateurs to rising esports stars. Whether you’re just in on the fun, or the RM500k worth of prizes (or maybe even for just the sneaks, ehe).

Here’s how you can join the challenge:

  • Step 1: Register on the official website here
  • Step 2: Redeem Codes and Earn Dew Points (which you’ll need to qualify for tournaments later, we’ll get to that in a bit)
  • Step 3: Form teams and compete in Tier 1-3 tournaments
  • Step 4: Earn Dew Points from Tier 1-3 tournaments
  • Step 4: Use Dew Points to redeem cool items at the Dew Shop
  • Step 5: Earn Challenge Points in Tier 1 to qualify for the Grand Finale

This is a year-long challenge so players can expect future tournaments, vouchers, and surprise activations. They can also redeem exclusive goodies like Honor of Kings tokens, vouchers, and other rewards from the Dew Shop on the Challenge’s website, as well as in-game and physical rewards.

The Three-Tier Tournaments & The Grand Finale

There are three tiers to the tournaments:

1. Tier 3

The only free-to-play tournament that doesn’t require Dew points. Teams can earn 20 Dew points if they can emerge as the winning team in Tier 1. Tournaments are held twice a day, 6 days a week for 30 weeks, and each can accommodate up to 64 teams.

2. Tier 2

This is a mid-level tournament that requires 500 Dew points to play. Tournament frequency is similar to Tier 3 and can also host up to 64 teams per tournament. 650 Dew points are awarded to the top 2 teams and 4 randomly selected teams.

3. Tier 1

The most exclusive of the three that requires 1,000 Dew points for entry. Tournaments are held 4 times daily and 3 days a week for 16 weeks. Each tournament can host up to 32 teams.

All my life, I have trained for this moment.

To stand a chance and win the RM500k prize pool, you’ll need to accumulate enough Dew Points to compete in the Tier 1 tournaments. From there, you’ll have to accumulate Challenge points over 16 weeks starting 15th February, and only the top 16 teams with the most Challenge points can progress to the Grand Finale that will take place between the 23rd to 25th of May!

Check out the rulebook and T&C for more information about the challenge. And if you haven’t registered already, sign up here.
