What dumb thing has your partner done to prove their love for you?

Falling in love is one of the best feelings that you may have experienced in your lifetime. During the course of the relationship, there might be many things you or your partner could have done to prove/express love.

It was just last weekend when I re-watched an almost 20-year-old Tamil movie, Boys. The main hero takes on a challenge to walk nude on a busy road if he wants her to accept his love. As stupid as that may sound, I am pretty sure we all would have had that experience of doing something dumb although it may be something not as dumb as that.

Going down memory lane

That scene actually brought back many memories, especially during college days. I started accumulating more white clothes because my then-boyfriend liked to see me in white. That isn’t as bad. But he used to carry my pink backpack from the LRT station just coz it was heavy. When I asked him why did he do it, he always said “I love you and I care for you. So I carry your bag lah! Simple as that.

I clearly remember the stares we used to get on the crowded road, to the point I kesian him and got a black bag instead. You might think waahhh this girl’s boyfriend is so sweet. I think the universe said enough taking now it’s your time to give.

Oh and trust me the giving isn’t easy! Years after college and life happened, when I met my partner he decided to make me prove my love for him after an argument. When we went out for dinner, I was persistent to eat tom yam.

After we finished the meal, he made me eat the limau purut leaves, ginger, cili padi, and kunyit hidup. I could have landed myself in the hospital that night but I guess blinded by love, I went through with it.
