Malaysia in a Tortilla? No! Malaysia in a Rollti-lah!

About 5 years ago, we heard from this iconically Malaysian video that:

“Everything the light touches, can be put inside a roti.” – StevenBonesEverything, 2018.

Ah yes, the pride of Malaysians wrapped in a single.. photo. Image sourced from MostShareNews.

Well ladies and gentlemen, 5 years later, that line about roti is now realiti, because Rollti has officially rolled out in PJ City! (In The Starling to be exact, hehe)

Seeking to offer a taste of Malaysia wrapped in a Roti, Rollti is a new Malaysian grab-and-go concept restaurant offering an innovative take on Malaysia’s beloved Roti Canai. Departing from the conventional flatbread approach, the roti canai wraps are crafted in a way that can be filled with a variety of crisp vegetables, savoury proteins, and exceptional locally inspired sauces like Rendang, Sambal, Satay, Curry and much more. The fillings are undoubtedly familiar to the tastebuds of typical Malaysians, who (as we all know), valiantly defend the local food scene, and take immense pride in its globally renowned culinary heritage, known for diverse flavours and cuisines.

Rollti CEO, Keith Loh, explained that Rollti represents the future of roti canai, as it showcases the rich and diverse flavours of the Malaysian food scene, while also conveying pride in Malaysian culinary tradition. With the start of this business, Keith explains that Rollti plans to “roll out” a new experience for our customers and eventually expand across the nation so all Malaysians can unfold this modern twist to their traditional roti canai.

Speaking of Rollti’s plans, Keith also mentioned that Rollti is already planning to “roll out” to more locations:

“With the kick-off of our first outlet in Starling Mall, we are securing another 10 more locations from now till the end of 2024. With our first ever store at The Starling mall, we have just expanded another outlet that will be launching soon at NU Sentral. This is in line with our group’s ambition of having 100 outlets in the next 5 years across Malaysia and the region”.
