Airasia’s Superapp combine its e-hailing and food delivery services with Foodpanda

Sometimes, there are days where you want to satisfy your McD cravings at midnight but you’re lazy to drive out. But thanks to living in the future, food is just a couple of taps away on your phone. Then, all you have to do is wait for abang or kakak delivery to send that delicious food to your doorstep and tip them for their hard work.

And since this writer can’t cook anything except Maggi, food delivery apps practically saved me from a life of malnutrition.

Recently, AirAsia’s Superapp announced a collaboration with Foodpanda that lets both platforms leverage on each other’s strengths –  Foodpanda’s food delivery and AirAsia’s Superapp e-hailing service will be endorsed by a fully complete super app ecosystem for users of both apps.

AirAsia e-hailing service is available on Foodpanda

The AirAsia Superapp is a one stop travel and lifestyle platform which lets you book flights, hotels, gifts, and food delivery at your own convenience. Its other benefits is that you can check-in for your Airasia flights and print your boarding tickets and baggage tags from your phone.

With this partnership, Airasia’s rides will be made available on the Foodpanda app and, in turn, Foodpanda will be powering AirAsia’s food delivery service. Essentially, this connect millions of AirAsia Superapp users to Foodpanda’s extensive network of more than 100,000 merchants with thousands of delivery partners.

“We are laser-focused on fulfilling our travel superapp vision and we are glad to have found positive synergy with a strong delivery partner as we move on to a dine-in model for our businesses. At the end of the day, this partnership enable us to support each other’s app strengths.” – Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A

There were also hints of future collaborations that AirAsia’s Superapp and Foodpanda might explore in the future such as payment solutions via BigPay, joint loyalty programs with AirAsia rewards, and subscription plans. To celebrate their partnership, you can look forward to their exclusive e-hailing and food delivery deals on both of their apps.
