Buying tickets for Coldplay Malaysia? Here are the seats to avoid

Coldplay is finally coming to Malaysia. Let us take a moment to scream our hearts out!!!

Okay, but don’t scream so much yet la… you still need to buy tickets.

After Live Nation announced the seat map and pricing, people who were at the recent Black Pink: Born Pink concert that was also held at Stadium National Bukit Jalil started sharing the worst and best seats to get on Tiktok.

Before we get to the summary though, one thing to note is that the CAT numbering for Coldplay: Music of the Spheres and Born Pink are different, but the sections are the same. Also, the stage setup might be different so your experience will vary.

Here are the seats you should AVOID

CAT 2:

  • Section 212, Row W
  • Section 213 Row Y
  • Section 214, Seat M20 & M21

Disclaimer: In the Tiktok video, it says CAT 4, but we are referring to the section which is the same as the seat map for both concerts.

Tiktok videos that mentioned these sections all said that they were blocked by a bar. If you are short, the bar might be an obstruction and your vision might be blocked. However, if you are going in pairs or as a couple, be sure to avoid seat M21 and M22 as you will be physically separated.

“If you’re going in pairs, do not buy seat 21 & 22 coz you will be separated with a bar (you can see in the video)” -Tiktok user, hnna9

CAT 5:

  • Section 207, Row G, Seat No. 37

@the.artzology’s tiktok video shared a few screenshots from twitter to avoid this seat because you will most likely end up sitting on the stairs. What’s the point of paying if you have to end up on the stairs?!

CAT 4:

  • Section 106 & 105

@melvinhatesyou_’s tiktok video said to avoid these seats because the section would most likely be blocked by the canopy, the screen and the speaker.

BONUS: Here’s how you can increase your chances of getting tickets!

First up, we wanna give props to the BlackPink fans are helping other concertgoers improve their concert experience.

As we like to say, getting a bad seat is better than no seat. So here’s how to prepare yourself to fight the online battle when the tickets go up on sale on May 17 (or the May 16 presale for CIMB cardholders):

  • Increase the chance of securing your tickets by making sure all your friends are on the website.
  • Make sure one person has more than one device on the website – it could be an iPad, Tablet, Laptop, Phone
  • Use a stable wifi – Mobile data can just kong on you
  • Make sure to prepare a back up plan. For example, if CAT 1 is fully booked, go for CAT 2 and so on.

All the best to those going for war on the 16 & 17 May. Be prepared, you don’t want to be crying in the corner singing Yellow. You have been warned.
