HLB’s ‘Senyum-Senyum Raya’ campaign: Festive vibes, smart money & CSR

It’s that time of the year again—duit Raya, endless ketupat, and that one uncle who keeps asking when you’re getting married. But before you get too deep into your kuih lapis stash, Hong Leong Bank (HLB) has launched its Senyum-Senyum Raya campaign, reminding Malaysians that Hari Raya isn’t just about food comas and Balik Kampung jams—it’s also about amalan (good practices), including smart financial habits.

And guess what? They even dropped a Raya song to get you in the festive mood!

Alif Satar & The Locos bring the ‘Senyum-Senyum Raya’ vibes

HLB has teamed up with their long-time ambassador, Alif Satar, to release a Raya banger titled Senyum-Senyum Raya. Written by Yusuff Khan, Adam Armin, Adly Kiddy, and Ja’a, the song is all about spreading gratitude, positivity, and good vibes (basically, the opposite of what happens when you realize your duit Raya budget is way over).

“I am truly honoured to collaborate with HLB on this project. As someone who values family, this initiative is especially meaningful to me because it’s not just an ordinary song but also carries a positive message. The first time I heard the demo, I immediately felt its positive and cheerful vibe, perfectly matching the festive spirit of Raya.”

If you’re in the mood to get your Raya playlist updated, you can check out the song on all major streaming platforms. The music video, which dropped on March 17, is also up on HLB’s YouTube channel.

Raya is fun, but so is having a solid financial plan

HLB’s Group Managing Director and CEO, Kevin Lam, emphasized that the bank isn’t just here to make Raya jingles. The goal is to help Malaysians manage their finances wisely through various personalized and Shariah-compliant financial solutions.

“We aim to expand personalised financial solutions to more customers, and in this aspect, Hong Leong Islamic Bank has played a crucial role by offering Shariah-compliant banking products and services. Through a range of Islamic banking products designed to meet the unique needs of our customers, we strive to ease their financial journey, while encouraging responsible financial management.”

Translation: Yes, splurge on kuih and baju Raya, but don’t forget to plan for your future too.

HLB’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Zalman Zainal, added that this year’s campaign is all about amalan—or habits that bring lasting benefits.

Free food for foodpanda riders? Yes, please!

HLB isn’t just talking the talk—they’re also giving back. The bank has teamed up with foodpanda to distribute meals to 1,000 delivery riders and sponsor Iftar meals for over 300 riders across Melaka, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, and Perak.

Because let’s be honest—these guys keep us fed all year round, so it’s nice to see them getting some love in return.

On top of that, HLB employees have been busy with CSR efforts, donating RM100,000 worth of food packs and daily essentials to welfare homes. That’s a whole lot of amalan baik!

So, if you’re looking to get into the Raya spirit while also picking up a few financial tips (and a new song to blast in the car on the way to kampung), HLB’s Senyum-Senyum Raya campaign has got you covered. Check out the song, spread some good vibes, and maybe—just maybe—think twice before blowing your entire duit Raya budget in one go.
