Asian parenting have been known to be a unique combination of fear, kiasuness, strict rules and 398402 rotans, with little to no room for something called ‘expressive love’. We all know we’ve got a different culture from angmohs, where they think ‘time out’ is punishment (hah!) and where they have career choices beyond the SAA™ (Standard Asian Ambition): doctor, engineer, lawyer or accountant.

But does that mean that our parents don’t love us? You already know the answer la. Despite the nagging and the shelling, it’s no secret that most of our parents actually love us beyond measure, but they show it in a ‘diam-diam’ way only. Cos shy lar… Abuden…
