The Together for Tomorrow Roadshow, held from the 4th to the 9th of July at IPC, kicked off the celebrations. Mr. Toru Nishiguchi, Director, Senior Managing Executive Officer President, Consumer Products of Global Kao Corporation, proudly highlighted Kao’s dedication to a beautiful life, both inside and out, emphasizing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies via their Kirei Lifestyle Plan.

Kao’s Kirei Lifestyle Plan encompassed various goals, including decarbonization, zero waste, water conservation, and pollution prevention. Being recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute for 17 consecutive years, Kao’s commitment goes beyond environmental concerns to address public health and social needs, reflecting the spirit of togetherness within the Malaysian community.

One notable initiative is the Bioré Guard Mos Block Serum mosquito repellent, introduced as part of the #Guard Our Future project in Thailand, soon to expand across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia. The project aimed to protect communities at risk from mosquito-borne diseases, promoting a safer and healthier future for Malaysians.

Kao’s dedication to empowering women was evident through initiatives supporting work-life balance and providing educational opportunities for young Malaysian girls. The Laurier School of Confidence, in collaboration with Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), promoted confidence and rewarded eligible students with a Simpan SSPN account from PTPTN, exemplifying Kao’s commitment to uplift women in Malaysia.

Collaborations with NGOs, such as the Biji-Biji Initiative and Impaclution, showcased Kao’s commitment to sustainability, while city clean-up activations and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) processes reduced the environmental footprint of its products, resonating with Malaysians’ love for a cleaner, greener nation.

Mr. Nishimaki Akira, President of Kao Malaysia, expressed his excitement about incorporating action points in their ESG strategy, including achieving Zero Waste and furthering women’s empowerment through initiatives like the KAO School of Confidence empowered by BIORE, LIESE, and LAURIER.

With the Kirei Lifestyle Plan as their guide, Kao is determined to develop its business and provide better products and services, contributing to a more beautiful life for everyone, now and in the future.
