Golden Screen Cinemas launches “Seniors at the Movies” for a more inclusive fun

Movies have this way of bringing people together whether it’s a laugh, a tear, or just some good company. Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) gets that. They’ve launched Seniors at the Movies, a monthly screening for anyone 55 and above which happens at select GSC locations around Klang Valley.

Movies help keep the mind active and create moments of connection, which is important for seniors’ mental well-being. This initiative aims to make the cinema experience more welcoming and meaningful for older folks, giving them a chance to meet others and spend quality time with family or friends.

What kicked off at GSC Starling Mall is now happening at GSC Paradigm Mall PJ too. Each month, they pick a movie just right for the seniors crowd. Tickets go for RM11, and yes, that includes your pick of hot tea or mineral water. Seniors aged 55+ and their family members can buy these tickets.

Watch a movie at GSC and get a health check too

On top of that, there are free health screenings available during these movie outings. They check your blood pressure, oxygen levels, heart rate, all done in partnership with Pantai Hospital to keep everyone in check.

The next screening is on 23 August 2025 (Saturday), 11am at GSC Starling Mall and GSC Paradigm Mall PJ, featuring the movie Freakier Friday.

If you’re thinking of a different way to spend time with your parents or grandparents, this might be worth checking out.
