CILISOS says sorry to Wallase Tan for implying porno habit

Last week, we published an article on Malaysian Pornhub stats that unfortunately featured an innocent Wallase Tan in the background. The picture was actually taken from our editor’s cameraphone, while at a popular cybercafe in Damansara Utama.

Do note that the image has since been removed from the article, and the Facebook post has been hidden from the feed. While the faces are censored, and the three individuals aren’t explicitly looking at pornography, we can understand how the overall image might be viewed negatively, and for that…

Needless to say,

Wallase (or the other two individuals in the picture) had nothing to do with the Pornhub article.

But were just innocent bystanders that got caught in our editor’s sick voyeuristic lens. We hope you can understand that a site like CILISOS covers current events, and that sometimes because of our short editorial turnaround (a day or two), our writers don’t get a lot of time to look for a suitable image. As such, one of our main sources of images is our own cameraphones.

Having said that, we will definitely be altering our editorial policies to ensure that for sensitive articles like this, more care is taken to preserve the privacy and reputation of individuals such as yourself.

Wallase: We understand that because of our stupid site, your reputation has been tarnished, so once again, from the very bottom of our hearts, the CILISOS team is sorry for any troubles it might have caused you. We hope you find it in your heart to forgive us.

Ideally, as we told you in person, the best outcome for this would be that Chak and UiHua (as avid gamers ourselves) can get over this, and go kick some ass with you at Blitzone in future.

Incidentally, we’re hanging that sign in our office as a reminder to ensure that we put more effort into solving these issues in future (above UiHua, of course).

Uihua sorry wallase

If you like, you can come collect it from us some time 🙂
