Culture Sponsored Weirdness

Psst. We got jalan for you to buy D24 durians for less than RM30. (And it’s not just in Klang Valley!)

If you love durians, you’ll know that they cost a freaking megabomb nowadays. In one of our recent stories, we found out that the price has doubled in the last two years!

There are a lot of reasons why this is happening (*ahem*ChinabuyfromMesiauntilhabisliao*ahem*), but we have some good news for you…

You can buy D24 durians (worth RM90)… for RM30 OR LESS!

Really wan, no funky dory hidden costs and all. Our friends at Grab know your pain, so they’re running their 3rd annual #GrabDurian event, this time bringing D24 durians at a decent weight of 1.5kg to your doorstep!

There are two ways to get your durians from Grab:

The first method is to redeem using your GrabReward points.

  • If you’re a Platinum member, you can redeem your durian with just 1 point. (That 1 point is equivalent to 10 sen!)
  • If you’re a Gold, Silver or normal member, you can redeem your durian with 200 points. (That 200 points is equivalent to RM20.)

P/S: If you don’t know which shiny tier you’re in, or how many points you’ve collected, just launch the Grab app and click on the menu button on the top left. You’ll see your points and membership tier right under your name.

The second method is to use your debit/credit card on GrabPay. You’ll be charged only RM30.

For all the steps, click here.

Whether you’re using the first or second method, either way, it’s a great bargain ‘cos… the durians are actually worth RM90 each.  😮 Best news is that it’s available in Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. Don’t miss it, cos #GrabDurian will only happen on 9 September 2017 (this Saturday), from 11am to 7pm.

Don’t be discouraged if you think it’s impossible to get… you just need to keep trying. Our Managing Editor who usually never wins anything in (and at) life scored two bijis last year:

Don’t mind the face, baru bangun belum gosok gigi.

Once you get your durian, tag #GrabDurian so you can share the joy on your timeline. (Or make other people jealous too, hehe.) Good luck!  🙂
